Purpose

The purpose of the Community Ministry Food pantry is to provide emergency food for families and individuals who are in need of assistance.

Boundaries

Community Ministry will provide services to anyone in the Denver Metro area. However, special programs are reserved for residents living in the 80204, 80219, 80223, 80236 and 80227 (Denver County) zip codes and people referred by one of our partner churches. A listing of other area food banks, hours and requirements can all be obtained from Hunger Free Colorado at 720-382-2920.

Visit Limits

Neighbors may come 12 times per year 30 days apart.

Requirements

To receive services, it is prefered that neighbors provide documentation for everyone living in their household on the first visit each year. This can be a driver’s license, birth certificate, social security card, School ID, Medical card or custody papers etc.

Food Provided

Community Ministry provides a self shopping food pantry so that clients can choose their own food within certain guidelines. Depending on availability we try to provide enough nutritious food to sustain a family a five for at least five days.

Resources

Food for the food pantry is donated by supporting churches, community business, and school food drives, King Sooper’s Zero Hunger Zero Waste program, The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and the Commodities Supplemental Food Program ( Evergreen Eats). Food is also purchased from Food Bank of the Rockies.

Location

The Community Ministry food pantry is located at 1755 S. Zuni. This is two blocks north of Jewel and approximately eight blocks east of Federal Blvd. View Map.

Hours

The food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 1-4:00 p.m. It is also open Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
